According to Allegheny County, Pa. guidelines for my mother living in a nursing home; she is allowed to keep 8000.00 of her last financial resources. I am her son and the monies referred to here are in a joint account, Who gets that 8000.00 dollars that is remaining?

I have something on my Electric Bill called a default charge, even though I am paying $101 per month on my electric bill due to selecting a certain gas company to provide generation supply, I now have a bill of $344.28 and even though I am paying $101 per month, they keep charging me default service charge. Where can I get help with this matter?

I have heard that veterans are eligible for funding if they are living in assisted living or other facilities. Is this correct, what are the requirements, and how do I find out more about it?

We have been trying to find information on Home improvement grants/loans for low income Senior Citizens. My Mother is required to tap into the new sewer line and her township did not secure low income funding for it's residents. Does anyone know where we can find help for my mother? She does not have the $5 - $7 K for the tap in fees.

Hi! Mom is a senior citizen. She just went to her eye doctor today but we came back home because the total cost is too high. My mom is still working, she works in the field. She's low income. I was wondering if you have a program for senior citizen benefits like for eye care and other benefits. My mom couldn't afford her eye glasses. She's having a hard time with her eyesight. Hope you could help her out. Thanks!

My grandmother is getting out of the hospital in a few days and the doctor says she needs 24/7 care. I don't know where to turn and her income is not even close to covering a nursing home. Can someone give me some advice?
