Please let us know what type of place and which areas so we can give you more specific answers. In the meantime:

There are Senior Centers in most areas where active older adults can go and participate in many activities and to socialize. Most also offer a low cost lunch.

Adult Day Care Centers are available for those needing assistance with activities. They offer skill-appropriate activities and socialization, as well as lunch and snacks.

Or is she looking for a senior living residence? There are many senior housing options including senior apartments, over 55 communities, and Independent Living Residences. Most offer activities, plenty of social opportunities, and many provide group transportation to nearby shopping, churches, and other activities.

Also see part of an answer to another post that may be helpful to you below.

"... Facility Placement Consultants can also assess your mother's needs and assist with locating the appropriate senior living residence for her. These professionals should already be familiar with local resources and facilities, so that might be very helpful to you....."

Information and contact details for the above programs and senior living options can be found at www.TodaysSeniorResource.com
