Senior Apartments

My mom lives on social security and can no longer take care of her house. I have heard there are apartments for seniors that the rent goes by your income. How can I find out about these options. She currently lives in Pittsburgh,PA (Brookline ).

One way to search for rent subsidized apartments for seniors is to use the Apartment Locator. It's a free, easy to use online tool that was developed by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency to link consumers to affordable housing options throughout the Commonwealth. You can search by location, size, and more.

You can also contact your county's Area Agency on Aging and ask if they can provide you with a list of rent subsidized apartments for older adults.
