Yes, non-medical home care agencies, such as Senior Helpers, can assist with food shopping and other services for as little as a few hours on one day a week or whatever is needed to assist the senior and their family. In addition to grocery shopping, the caregivers can provide assistance with meal planning and preparation, transportation and other errands, light housekeeping, laundry, medication reminders and assistance with personal care, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and incontinence care. For additional questions about the services we could provide, please contact Senior Helpers at (724)834-5720. The Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging may also have resources for food shopping services available to seniors in the area. They can be reached at (724)830-4444. My sister-in-law got some help from this place. They were good, but didn't always have enough people to volunteer. Jacob's Creek Area Faith in Action Excela Health Frick Hospital 508 S. Church St., Suite 3456 Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666 724-542-4117 Doug R.

We had a church volunteer who helped with groceries and other errands. As time went by and my dad needed more help, we hired a caregiver through an agency who also does the shopping. We found the home care agency listed on this website. Thank You TodaysSeniorResource.com! Susan G.
